Sweden's David Lingmerth has a simple plan for success at the World Cup of Golf at Kingston Heath this week - just put the ball in play and let teammate Alex Noren take care of the rest.
It may not be quite that simple but with four European Tour victories this year, including a six-shot win at the lucrative Nedbank Challenge earlier this month, world No.9 Noren is one of the hottest players on the planet right now.
The 34-year-old was ranked 110 in May, and two years ago won just $8500 for the year while battling a wrist injury that almost ended his career
But Noren has rocketed up the rankings in 2016 and pocketed over $1.5 million with his recent win in South Africa alone.
"There's no pressure (on me), it's going to be a lot of fun," world No.65 Lingmerth said.
"We're just getting to know each other better and playing a team tournament is something that we don't do a lot."
Noren shrugged off the 'hottest' tag, saying little had changed in his game apart from hitting the ball slightly straighter.
"Well, it's good that they think so because I don't really think so," Noren said.
"It's a new week and it's not like my game is perfect every week, it just happened to be a good stretch.
"Obviously it's nice to come up with some good tournaments and your confidence builds but I don't see myself as the hottest player. "
The pair are hoping their European experience bodes well for their first tournament at Kingston Heath.
"It plays kind of like Scottish golf, kind of linksy, firm fairways and firm greens with some very penalising bunkers and stuff," Lingmerth said.
"I feel like in Scotland you can miss it left and right a little bit more and be in the tall stuff where you still have a shot.
"Out here there's some really nasty spots with bushes and you can lose your ball. "
