Syd man allegedly infected man with HIV

A Sydney man has been charged with allegedly knowingly infecting another man with HIV after they became involved in a relationship.

A Sydney man who allegedly knowingly infecting another man with HIV is expected to face court.

Surry Hills police became involved after a 33-year-old man became infected with the virus in 2012.

It's alleged the other man did not inform him of his own HIV status.

A warrant was issued for the man's arrest after he could not be located.

Australian Federal Police officers arrested a 28-year-old man at Sydney Airport on Sunday night and charged him with recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm.

The 28-year-old was refused bail and is expected to face Downing Centre Local Court on Monday.
