A 28-year-old Australian boxer remains on life support in a Sydney hospital after being knocked out in an IBF regional title fight.

Davey Browne Jnr was floored by a punch from Filipino Carlo Magali on Friday night during the bout at Ingleburn RSL.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital after being treated by paramedics and on Saturday his condition was still critical.

The incident occurred in the fourth and final round of the bout and, while he appeared to regain consciousness and was sat on a stool, he suddenly slid off and lapsed into unconsciousness.
