Two Sydney brothers and a teenage boy have been charged over a brawl pre-arranged on Facebook and staged outside a shopping centre that has left a father and son fighting for their lives.

The men - aged 20, 18 and 15 - have been charged with wounding with intent and affray after the fight police say was organised on social media, at Rouse Hill shopping centre, in the city's northwest, on Thursday evening.

A family member of the two brothers posted on Facebook "Wish this was a bad dream" on Friday after the charges were laid.

Police have been told a group of about 20 men arranged to meet outside the shopping centre for a fight.

It is unknown what the row was over.

A knife, scissors and baseball bat have been seized from the crime scene as police continue their investigations.

Five men were arrested at a home in Whalan a short time after the fight broke out about 8.30pm.

A 41-year-old man was stabbed in his stomach, arms and back, and his 20-year-old son suffered a single stab wound to the chest during the fight at the intersection of Caddies Boulevard and White Hart Drive.

The father and son have both undergone surgery and remain in a critical condition at Westmead Hospital, police said.

The two brothers will appear at Mt Druitt Local Court while the youth will appear at Parramatta Local Court on Friday.
