Sydney couple arrested on weapons charges

A Sydney couple has been arrested after a crossbow, drugs, a gun and false ID equipment was found in their Ashfield home.

A man and woman have been arrested in Sydney after allegedly being found with stolen mail, a gun and crossbow.

The 30-year-old man and 32-year-old woman were pulled over by police in the inner-west suburb of Ashfield on Friday.

A check revealed the man had an outstanding arrest warrant and he was taken into custody.

Police allege stolen mail, credit cards, financial paperwork and methamphetamine were found in the couple's car.

Police also found a mailbox master key hidden in the woman's bra.

A search warrant executed on their home unit in Ashfield, where police allegedly found a large amount of stolen mail, a shortened firearm, crossbow, equipment to manufacture identity documents, drugs and a flare gun.

The woman has been charged with five counts of dishonestly obtaining property and one count of driving while disqualified.

The man has been charged with three counts of dishonestly obtain property, and one count of driving while disqualified.

Both are due to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
