A fashion designer accused of groping and indecently assaulting a number of his models could face further charges, a Sydney court has heard.

Shardie Hourani, 31, briefly faced Waverley Local Court on Thursday, charged with five counts of assault following allegations he groped, harassed and exploited two young female models.

Court documents allege the Arncliffe man "grabbed the buttocks" of one woman numerous times in La Perouse in October last year and grabbed the breast of another woman in March this year.

Just seven days later, Hourani assaulted the same woman by grabbing her thighs, trying to kiss her and laying on top of her, the documents say.

Police prosecutor Matthew Perry told the court that investigations were continuing and more charges were likely.

Hourani is yet to enter a plea and will return to court on September 17.
