Sydney 'drug lab' shut down during raids

Police say they've shut down a drug lab in Sydney's southwest following raids of more than a dozen homes.

Police have dismantled an alleged drug lab and banned 10 people from possessing guns during a raid of more than a dozen homes across Sydney.

Ten residents were issued with Firearm Prohibition Orders during a search of 16 homes on Wednesday and Thursday.

Police say a clandestine laboratory at a home in Belmore in the city's west was also shut down, while drugs, believed to be methylamphetamine, and drug manufacturing equipment were seized.

A 56-year-old man was also charged with three drug offences and refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday.
