An upgrade to Sydney's Ryde Hospital will get a $9 million boost if the Baird government is re-elected at the upcoming state election.

Health Minister Jillian Skinner made the announcement on Saturday, saying the upgrade was one of 60 projects to be funded as part of a $5 billion second-term health infrastructure budget.

Ms Skinner said the $9 million would be in addition to $5 million already spent on improving Ryde Hospital.

"Today, we come together again to deliver more good news. A second-term Baird Government will spend $9 million to upgrade the hospital's coronary care and high dependency unit, as well as Ward 2, which is a medical in-patient ward," she said in a statement.

"I can also announce an environmental survey of the current infrastructure of Ryde Hospital and master planning for its future clinical needs will begin later this year."

The project would start if the state government is returned at the March 28 poll, she said.
