Sydney man arrested just before US flight

A 33-year-old man has been arrested at Sydney airport and charged with drug offences linked to a two-year-old bust.

A man has been stopped at Sydney airport and charged with drug offences as he was about to board a flight to the Unites States.

The 33-year-old was arrested on Thursday by officers investigating a hydroponic cannabis operation discovered at a house in Sydney 18 months ago.

He was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with cultivating by enhanced indoor means a prohibited plant for commercial purposes.

He was also charged with using, consuming and wasting electricity without authority.

The man is due to face Waverley Local Court on Friday.
