Sydney man charged for marrying 15yo girl

A 19-year-old Sydney man is due to face court after he allegedly married a teenage girl.

A 19-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly married a 15-year-old girl in Sydney's southwest late last year.

Police say the then-18-year-old married a girl, 15, in a private ceremony at a Lurnea home in November.

The pair then lived together in Yagoona, where the man was arrested on Wednesday and charged.

He is due to face Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday, charged with marrying a person not of marriageable age.
