Sydney man charged with punching toddler

A man has been charged with assault after a toddler was punched in the face while she was in her pram at a major Sydney train station.

A man has been charged after a 16-month-old girl was punched in the face at a Sydney train station.

The toddler was with her parents at Central Station on Thursday morning when a 28-year-old man allegedly approached her pram, punched her and ran away with the child's father in pursuit.

The alleged attacker was found by police nearby and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He will appear at Central Local Court on Friday.

The girl suffered a small laceration to her face.
