Sydney teenager hurt in truck hit-and-run

Police are asking for help in tracking down a truck driver involved in a hit-and-run that left a teenager seriously injured in Sydney.

A 14-year-old boy has been left with serious injuries and undergone surgery after being struck by a truck in a hit-and-run incident in Sydney's west.

The boy was standing in a break-down lane in McGraths Hill when he was struck by a b-double truck on Monday afternoon.

He has had surgery on his arm, but his injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

Police said the driver of the truck failed to stop and was last seen driving north on Pitt Town Road.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to come forward.
