Sydney unit goes up in flames

A unit in Lane Cove has been destroyed by fire, according to police, who say nearby residents were treated for smoke inhalation.

Several people have been treated for smoke inhalation after a unit block fire in Sydney.

The Lane Cove unit caught fire just after 7pm on on Saturday, according to police, who say no one was home at the time.

The unit was destroyed by the fire, while several neighbouring residents, who evacuated the block, suffered smoke inhalation.
