The wife of an Islamic State recruit accused of supporting overseas terrorism has waived her right to a committal hearing.

Fatima Elomar was stopped at Sydney Airport in May 2014 when she tried to board an international flight with her children.

She appeared in Downing Centre Local Court on Monday charged with supporting incursions into a foreign state with the intention of engaging in hostile activities.

The court heard she waived a committal hearing and would face arraignment in Sydney District Court on May 15.

Elomar is the wife of Mohamed Elomar, who is fighting with Islamic State and who last year posted pictures online of himself holding the severed heads of Syrian government soldiers.
