Sylvia's three touches enough for Freo

Fremantle coach Ross Lyon says Colin Sylvia will keep his spot for Saturday night's clash with Brisbane at Patersons Stadium.

Fremantle coach Ross Lyon is well aware that stats can be deceiving, and it's just as well for midfielder Colin Sylvia.

Sylvia tallied just three disposals and one tackle in the space of 40 minutes after coming on as the sub in last week's AFL win over Richmond.

Although Sylvia's debut for Fremantle failed to reach any great heights, his work ethic impressed Lyon and the player group, so much so that the former Demon has already been guaranteed a spot for Saturday night's clash with Brisbane at Patersons Stadium.

"I wouldn't have thought we'll be sending him back to the WAFL," Lyon said.

"His output was solid. The players are giving him good feedback.

"They liked his effort.

"We always show highlights of effort (during our video review), and Col featured in a bit.

"That's always our first meeting of the week.

"It's generally a pleasant meeting to be in because we tend to give pretty good effort."

Wingman Anthony Morabito will be in the selection mix once again this week, but Lyon wasn't giving any hints away as to exactly when the 22-year-old will earn his long-awaited AFL return.

"The players are keen; we're keen, but at the end of the day it's about picking the best team," Lyon said of Morabito, who has undergone three knee reconstructions since 2010.

"His time will come. Is it this week? I'm not too sure."

The 17th-placed Lions are set to be without inspirational forward Jonathan Brown, who was heavily concussed during last week's loss to GWS.

Dockers defender Zac Dawson has been cleared to play after accepting a reprimand for kneeing Richmond's Jack Riewoldt.
