t.A.T.u. hold hands for Olympics opener

Russian pop duo t.A.T.u., who posed as lipstick lesbians during their heyday just over a decade ago, have united at the Olympics Opening Ceremony.

Russian pop duo t.A.T.u. helped to launch the Winter Olympics in Sochi on Friday by headlining the Opening Ceremony.

Reunited singers Julia Volkova and Lena Katina performed their 2003 hit Not Gonna Get Us at Fisht Stadium.

The two girls, who posed as lipstick lesbians during their heyday just over a decade ago, held hands throughout, but stopped short of locking lips as they did at the 2003 MTV Movie Awards.

The decision to have t.A.T.u. headline the launch party seemed odd considering Russian officials introduced new anti-gay propaganda legislation in 2013.
