Tacloban: seven months on from Typhoon Haiyan

SBS reporter Kathy Novak returns to Tacloban seven months after the Philippines was struck by the strongest tropical cyclone on record.

When Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines last November, members of SBS presenter Kathy Novak's family found themselves in the midst of the disaster.

They were trapped in Tacloban, the epicentre of what's known as the strongest tropical cyclone in recorded history.

Now, with the next typhoon season rapidly approaching, Kathy returns to see how her family and the locals the are coping with the aftermath for a special Dateline report.

She's speaking with Peggy Giakoumelos.
