Taiwan's Tseng returns for Ladies Masters

Former world No.1 golfer Yani Tseng has joined the field for next month's Australian Ladies Masters on the Gold Coast.

Former LGPA world No.1 Yani Tseng will return to the Gold Coast next month to contest her eighth Australian Ladies Masters.

The 24-year-old from Taiwan first played the event as a 16-year-old amateur and went on to win the tournament in 2011 - the year she topped the world rankings with 11 titles and became the youngest player to win five majors.

While injuries have cruelled her past two seasons on tour, Tseng - currently ranked 37th - has regained her fitness and is preparing for a big 2014.

She will tee up alongside a fellow former No.1, Australia's Karrie Webb, English teenage star Charley Hull, American Jessica Korda and Caroline Hedwall of Sweden at Royal Pines on the Gold Coast from February 6-9.

"We have known Yani for so many years; we have been a great supporter of her during her amateur career and she has been during her professional career, so it is fantastic news that she is returning once again in 2014," tournament chairman Bob Tuohy said on Tuesday.

Defending champion Webb will be chasing a record-breaking ninth win at the tournament.
