Prime Minister Tony Abbott has faced a tense start to the parliamentary week, with speculation about his leadership rife.

But it appears voters may have given him another chance, with the latest opinion poll confirming a pro-Government shift within the electorate.

And as Amanda Cavill reports, Mr Abbott is hoping a series of announcements this week will take the emphasis away from politics.
