Bennett wasn't happy after the back-rower went down in the first half and struggled in the Broncos' 53-0 rout of Newcastle at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.

Bennett said three Broncos had now come off second best from the tactic this season alone and wanted the issue addressed.

"I think the game will have to start looking at that stuff," he said.

"It is a pretty lethal part of your body and used in the wrong manner it can have a huge impact."

Glenn finished the game but at one stage spent more than 20 minutes off the field receiving treatment for a hip flexor injury after copping a knee from Sione Mata'utia.

Bennett said the tactic was becoming a huge concern and should be targeted like playmaker protection had been in the past.

"They are getting away with it, they are not getting charged with it," he said.

"I am not saying it (tackle on Glenn) was actually deliberate but I am saying it could have been avoided.

"I think that's why we need to put some more pressure on the player to not drop their knee.

"We've done it with players putting unnecessary pressure on kickers and I think this should be looked at as well."

Broncos forward Sam Thaiday said he had suffered from the injury in the past and paid tribute to Glenn for returning to the field.

"He got a knee on the hip, it's very painful," he said.

"It's hard to run. He showed his guts and determination getting back out there."
