North Queensland forward Tariq Sims has been suspended for two matches after taking the early guilty plea on a grade two dangerous throw.
Sims made the tackle on Canberra's Shaun Fensom in the first half of the Raiders' 42-12 win on Sunday.
He took to Twitter late on Monday night to apologise to Fensom.
"I want 2 apologise to Shaun for putting him in such a dangerous position yesterday during the game! It was not on and I'm sorry mate," Sims wrote.
Sims will miss the Cowboys' round 12 match against Melbourne in Townsville on Sunday, and their round 13 clash with Parramatta, effectively ending any chance he has of playing for NSW in this year's State of Origin series.
Brisbane forward Todd Lowrie won't miss a week after taking the early guilty plea on a grade one careless high tackle on Wests Tigers' Bodene Thompson in the Broncos' 16-14 win at Campbelltown on Saturday.
Canterbury forward David Klemmer escaped censure from the NRL match review committee for his raised legs while in possession of the football late in the second half of Sydney Roosters' 32-12 win over Canterbury on Friday.
