North Queensland forward Tariq Sims faces two weeks on the sideline as the NRL continues its crackdown on lifting tackles.

Sims was hit with a grade two dangerous throw charge by the NRL match review committee on Monday for a tackle on Canberra's Shaun Fensom in the first half of the Raiders' 42-12 victory on Sunday.

Sims will sit out two games if he takes the early guilty plea, if he fights the charge at the judiciary and loses he will miss three matches.

Brisbane's Todd Lowrie was the only other player charged from round 11 action by the match review committee.

The Broncos forward won't miss a game if he takes the early guilty plea on a grade one careless high tackle on Wests Tigers' Bodene Thompson in the second half of the Broncos' controversial 16-14 win at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday.
