Tas govt considers medical marijuana trial

Tasmanians could have the chance to be a part of mainland medical marijuana trials, Premier Will Hodgman says.

Eligible Tasmanians could be considered to take part in medical marijuana trials in other states, Premier Will Hodgman says.

Victorian and Queensland leaders on Sunday confirmed their states will join NSW to trial the drug as a treatment option, with children that have severe epilepsy to be the first to benefit.

"We are quite prepared to participate by way of scientific input ... and also we've made known to those who might have an interest in participating in one way or another that that opportunity could well be available," Mr Hodgman told reporters on Monday.
