Tas mining minister resigns from cabinet

Tasmanian Mining Minister Adam Brooks has resigned from cabinet.

Tasmania's embattled Mining Minister Adam Brooks has resigned from cabinet but will remain a member of parliament.

Premier Will Hodgman on Monday said there was no evidence Mr Brooks had breached strict protocols in place to manage his business situation, but an audit of his business email account would continue to confirm there was no breach.

Mr Brooks appeared to mislead parliament last week when he said he didn't have an email account with his consultancy company Maintenance Systems Solutions, but later corrected the parliamentary record saying his misunderstood the question.
