Tatts syndicate may freeze winnings

A group of workers have gone to court to find out if their TattsLotto syndicate organiser was one of three winners who shared a $50 million prize.

A TattsLotto syndicate that suspects its organiser pocketed a $16.7 million win may seek to freeze the funds.

The group of 14 Geelong transport workers suspect a colleague who quit his job and began living a lavish lifestyle after the October 2014 jackpot may have claimed their syndicate's winning ticket as his own.

The Victorian Supreme Court on Thursday ordered TattsLotto to hand over details of the winner's identity and details of how he paid for the ticket after hearing syndicate organiser Gary Baron admitted to buying the winning ticket but claimed to have done so with his own money.
