A 30-year-old taxi driver has been extradited from India after he allegedly sexually assaulted a teenage passenger.

Police claim the man fled to India after the assault on the 18-year-old woman, who caught his taxi in Northbridge in January 2011.

Police say they were advised of a second woman who was also allegedly sexually assaulted by the man.

Sex Assault Squad officers travelled to India and brought the man back to Perth on Thursday, charging him with six counts of indecent assault and one count of sexual penetration without consent.
