Country star Taylor Swift was the top-earning musician in 2013, pulling in $US39.7 million ($A44.36 million) from sales of her fourth studio album and a successful world tour, according to Billboard magazine.
Swift, 24, beat out other industry heavyweights such as Kenny Chesney, who earned $US33 million, and Justin Timberlake, who earned $US31.5 million.
Rock veterans Bon Jovi and The Rolling Stones followed with earnings of $US29 million and $US26 million dollars, while Beyonce was in sixth spot on Billboard's list with a $US24.4-million-dollar payday.
Maroon 5 and rising country star Luke Bryan followed with earnings of $US22 million each, while Pink was ninth with a $US20-million-dollar paycheck.
Classic rockers Fleetwood Mac rounded out the top 10 with $US19 million in income from their 2013 world tour.
