Teachers disarms NSW schoolboy

A NSW schoolboy who tried to hide a bow and arrows in a school playground has been disarmed by a teacher.

A northern NSW schoolboy will appear in court next month after a teacher and police had to disarm him of a bow and arrows.

The 16-year-old tried to grab his hidden weapons in a Woolgoolga school playground when he was confronted by the teacher on Thursday morning.

"The bow was successfully wrestled free by the teacher," police said.

Clasping his arrows, the 16-year-old fled from the school but was arrested on Friday morning.

Police charged the boy with intent to commit indictable offence, entering enclosed land, and resisting an officer in the execution of duty.

Bail was granted and he's due before Coffs Harbour Children's Court in early March.
