Like a political Contiki tour, teachers around the nation are boarding minibuses in a cross-country bid to convince the Abbott government to give schools more cash.
The Australian Education Union's national Gonski tour starts on Monday in Brisbane, Darwin, Perth and Hobart.
Tour participants will cross the country over the next five weeks, arriving in Canberra on March 18.
Along the way they'll encourage parents, teachers and principals to tell a senate inquiry into school funding what difference a bit of extra money would make for their school.
The union wants the federal government to commit to the full six-year, $10 billion school funding plan the former Labor government had pledged.
