Team New Zealand have completed a clean sweep of Italian rivals Luna Rossa at the America's Cup.

Team New Zealand have completed a clean sweep of Italian rivals Luna Rossa at the America's Cup with another procession-like win on San Francisco Bay.

The Kiwi outfit won by 3min 20sec, the closest margin in their four completed races since Luna Rossa forfeited the first on July 7.

Team NZ, who have already qualified for the Louis Vuitton Cup challenger series final, have won all their nine races, including four which were forfeited by Swedish syndicate Artemis Racing.

In winds ranging from 17 and 21 knots, Team NZ skipper Dean Barker won a hard-fought pre-start and had his boat eight seconds in front after the short first leg.

They steadily extended their advantage over the remainder of the seven-leg race, with the biggest gain of one minute being made on the third leg upwind.

Team NZ hit a top speed of 42.76 knots early in the race.

Their 10th and final round-robin race is scheduled for Tuesday against Artemis, who last week unveiled their second boat after the first was destroyed in a fatal accident during training in May.

Luna Rossa and Artemis are scheduled to meet in the final round-robin race on Thursday.

The best-of-seven Louis Vuitton Cup semi-final starts on August 6, while the best-of-13 final begins on August 17.
