Tedesco to show his stuff against Roosters

Former Roosters fullback Anthony Minichiello says Tigers No.1 James Tedesco is primed to give his new club a preview of what they can expect next year.

The man who lured James Tedesco to the Sydney Roosters - Anthony Minichiello - believes the Wests Tigers fullback will this weekend provide a glimpse of what the Tricolours can expect next year.

Unfortunately, the game will be against the Roosters.

Minichiello emerged as the surprise broker of Tedesco's lucrative four-year Roosters deal from 2018, thanks to his close relationship with the Tigers strike weapon.

Minichiello keeps in touch to share footy and diet tips and started the ball rolling for a Roosters raid when Tedesco expressed interest in a move during one of those phonecalls.

After chatting with Tedesco this week, former Roosters No.1 Minichiello sensed the Tigers dangerman was primed to provide the Tricolours a sneak preview of his 2018 form this weekend.

"Teddy wants to finish well for the Tigers and he is coming up against the team he will play for next year - I think he will have a good game," Minichiello told Fox Sports' NRL Tonight.

"For James he wants to finish off the season with the Tigers really well.

"And you have seen the last couple of games, he has been outstanding.

"They have their confidence up again."

Tedesco's form has helped the Tigers win two of their last three games including a stunning last-round upset of Manly.

He ran 200m and had a line break in the boilover against the Sea Eagles.

The Tigers face a stern test against a third-placed Roosters outfit who have welcomed back their answer to Tedesco in veteran No.1 Michael Gordon.

Gordon, 33, returned two weeks earlier than expected from a pectoral injury, replacing Connor Watson at the back.

"His recovery has been amazing. He remarkably has come good suddenly in three, four weeks and he is ready to play," Minichiello said of the former Sharks, Panthers and Eels back.

"He will add a lot to the team. He has been their most consistent buy of the season."
