Teen charged over restaurant rampage

A 16-year-old boy was allegedly one of three people involved in a violent rampage at a Perth restaurant.

A teenage boy is accused of participating in a violent rampage with two men in Perth's entertainment district.

Police allege the trio threatened restaurant customers on Saturday with a knife while throwing tables and chairs around, then punched the 49-year-old manager to the ground, where he was kicked.

A female customer was struck on the head with a chair and needed to go to hospital.

The trio then allegedly ran down the street armed with chairs, wooden poles and a bottle, throwing them at people before punching a 76-year-old man to the ground.

Police said on Wednesday they had charged a 16-year-old boy with going armed in public to cause fear, and disorderly conduct.

He is due to appear in the Perth Children's Court on April 13.

A 24-year-old man was charged over the incident on Sunday.
