The best friend of a Sydney teenager who died after taking ecstasy at a dance festival has pleaded guilty to supplying the drug that allegedly led to her death.

Georgina Bartter, 19, collapsed at Harbourlife festival in Sydney last November and later died in St Vincent's Hospital from multiple organ failure.

Friends of the University of Technology Sydney student told police at the time Ms Bartter had taken one and a half pills.

Following her death, a strike force was set up to investigate drug supply in Sydney and in February officers arrested Matthew Forti.

Forti is accused of supplying the drugs to Rebecca Hannibal who allegedly then passed it on to her best friend, Ms Bartter.

Hannibal, also 19, pleaded not guilty to supply in February but on Wednesday altered her plea to guilty during a mention at Downing Centre Local Court.

Court papers state she supplied a prohibited drug some time between 2pm and 3.30pm on November 7 last year, the day before the festival.

Hannibal's matter will return to court on June 10.

Forti pleaded not guilty to possessing MDMA and three counts of supply in March.
