A teen is in a serious condition in hospital after being discovered on a western Sydney footpath with a stab wound.

A teenager is fighting for his life in hospital after being found with a stab wound on a western Sydney footpath.

Following reports of a stabbing, police found the 17-year-old boy wounded on a Mt Druitt footpath shortly after midnight on Sunday.

The teen has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
