Tony Abbott has taunted Bill Shorten ahead of the opposition leader's budget-in-reply speech, asking him what "big hits" he plans for families.
The prime minister turned on Mr Shorten in parliament question time on Thursday, asking him whether he plans new taxes on carbon, mining and superannuation.
"Tell us what your plans are and if you can't ... he just doesn't have any except what he did in government, which is just more taxes, more taxes, more unaffordable spending," he said.
