Ten killed in Uruguay plane crash

A plane has crashed into a lake in eastern Uruguay, killing all 10 people on board, rescue officials say.

Ten people were killed when their plane plummeted into an inland lagoon in eastern Uruguay, rescue officials say.

The twin-engine Beechcraft crashed late on Thursday into Uruguay's Laguna del Sauce in Maldonado province, 15km west of the resort city of Punta del Este.

Authorities say it is unlikely they will find any survivors.

Of the eight passengers and two crew members aboard the flight, nine were Argentines and one was Portuguese, authorities said.
