Terranova wins Dakar Rally seventh stage

Mini maintained their grip on the 2015 Dakar Rally on Saturday when their Argentine driver Orlando Terranova claimed the British marque's seventh stage win out of seven on the Bolivian salt flat of Uyuni.

For Terranova this was a third stage win this year and fourth overall.

His Mini teammate Nasser Al-Attiyah, only seventh on Saturday, is still in command at the top of the overall standings but he had three minutes shaved off his lead by South African Giniel de Villiers, who crossed in sixth.

This was the first time competitor's in rallying's toughest event had crossed over from the Chilean city of Iquique to the world's largest salt flats.

The motorbike and quad competitors had a rest day
