A Victorian discount store is reportedly selling a "terrorist man" costume complete with a camouflage jacket, gun and fake beard.

Giant 2 Discounts, a store in the Melbourne suburb of Broadmeadows, had displayed the costume in a prominent position before removing it late Tuesday, the Herald Sun reports.

Iraqi migrant Amer Youkhanna told the Herald Sun he had been shocked to spot the costume while out shopping.

“I was walking around with two mates looking for phone chargers and suddenly I saw Terrorist Man with the beard and the outfit,” he said.

“It was really highly offensive. I did not feel well. I left Iraq because extremists were running the country."

Mr Youkhanna said he contacted the National Security Hotline to report the costume, but was told it could not do anything about it because the service was designed to deal with serious threats.
