Thai defamation case adjourned

An Australian journalist in Thailand will have to wait until next year for a court to hear a criminal defamation case brought against him by the country's Royal Navy.

Alan Morison and a local colleague have pleaded not guilty and his passport has been confiscated until the case is heard in March next year.

Authorities are upset over a report they allege implicates them in the trafficking of Rohingya asylum seekers from Myanmar, also known as Burma, into Malaysia.

PhuketWan editor Alan Morison spoke with Stefan Armbruster shortly after leaving the first full court hearing in Bangkok.
