Thaiday charged over Origin tackle

Maroons forward Sam Thaiday faces up to three weeks on the NRL sidelines after being charged with a dangerous throw on Paul Gallen in Origin II.

Sam Thaiday has been hit with a grade two dangerous throw charge from State of Origin II on Wednesday night and faces up to three weeks on the NRL sidelines.

Queensland forward Thaiday was placed on report for a first half tackle on NSW captain Paul Gallen in the Maroons' series-winning 26-16 defeat of the Blues at Suncorp Stadium.

Brisbane's Thaiday will earn two weeks out if he takes the early guilty plea, but will miss three weeks if he fights the suspension at the NRL judiciary and loses.
