Thailand a growing draw card for British retirees

British retirees are turning up in Thai resorts in their thousands - and they have no intention of going home, even if their presence is a growing challenge for Thai authorities.

Thousands of older Brits are deciding to stay in Thailand in their old age.

 

Many Westerners have enjoyed the sun, the sand, and also the sex on offer at Thai resorts.

For a growing number of mostly-male British retirees, the alluring aspects of this southeast Asian nation are just as strong in old age and they're turning up in droves.

Amidst recession across Europe, many have been arriving with no intention of going home.

But amid the good times, their presence is increasinbly a challenge for Thai authorities.

John Sparks of Britain's Channel 4 News has more in this special report.
