Sri Lanka have named left-hander Upul Tharanga to replace retired Kumar Sangakkara in the deciding third Test against India starting on Friday.
Sangakkara quit international cricket after playing the first two games of the series that is level at 1-1.
Captain Angelo Mathews said on Thursday the management were still discussing other changes in the team, including whether to hand hard hitter Kusal Perera a Test debut in place of Jehan Mubarak.
Also, offspinner Tharindu Kaushal is doubtful for the game at the Sinhalese Sports Club having injured the thumb of his bowling hand during the second Test.
In his absence, Dilruwan Perera will take the second spinner's slot.
