The week ahead in parliament

Parliament resumes today and tackling terrorism and delivering a small business tax break will be the focus of the final fortnight of sitting before the long winter break.

Immigration Minister Peter Dutton is set to introduce new laws allowing him to strip Australian citizenship from dual nationals suspected of terror-links.

But these laws are likely to spark intense debate with questions around their constitutionality.

And both Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Opposition Leader Bill Shorten will be in the political spotlights, and not in a good way.

Canberra correspondent Amanda Cavill is speaking to Michael Kenny.
