Thieves steal $1.7m worth of smokes

Over six occasions between March 2014 and May 2015, thieves have targeted a western Sydney warehouse for a huge cigarette haul.

A Sydney warehouse has been targeted six times in just over a year by thieves who have walked away with about $1.7 million worth of smokes.

The offenders failed in two attempts to steal from the Smithfield warehouse but succeeded on four other occasions, between March 2014 and May 2015.

The NSW Property Crime Squad estimates the stolen cigarettes are worth $1.7 million and believe the incidents are linked.
