St George Illawarra forward Joel Thompson and Sydney Roosters playmaker Luke Keary have both been hit with fines for tripping in their respective NRL matches on Saturday.

Thompson was pinged for clipping Wests Tigers fullback star Tedesco in the Dragons' tight win at ANZ Stadium, while Keary was caught nipping at Brisbane forward Alex Glenn at Allianz Stadium.

The duo attracted grade one charges, meaning a maximum $1500 penalty, however two non-similar offences upgraded Thompson's fine to $2100.

A third player was also hit in the back pocket by the match review committee on Sunday, with Roosters winger Daniel Tupou stung by a grade-one careless high tackle on Matt Gillett.

Tupou, who also failed to finish the match after picking up a groin injury, will cop a $1500 fine should he take an early guilty plea.
