Thompson re-signs with Cowboys until 2017

Cowboys hooker Ray Thompson has re-signed with North Queensland until the end of the 2017 NRL season.

North Queensland hooker Ray Thompson has extended his contract with the Cowboys for a further two years.

Thompson's re-signing until the end of the 2017 season keeps the 25-year-old at the club at which he made his NRL debut back in 2009.

"Absolutely it's a great feeling to be able to continue my time at the Cowboys," said Thompson, who is currently sidelined as he recovers from a fractured cheekbone sustained when Parramatta forward Manu Ma'u's knee hit his face in round 13.

"We (Thompson and partner Sabrina Galliozzi) have a baby on the way and being around the family with a club that's always done the right thing by me is just fantastic."
