Getting a large group of people together in the same space is difficult; giving them hula-hoops makes it even harder.

Almost 3,000 people have gathered in Bangkok to take part in a mass hula-hoop event.

The organisers were hoping to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records.

The event was part of a celebration of the Bangkok governor’s 84th birthday, ABC America reports.

The current record is held by Taipei, Taiwan, which managed to get 2,496 people hula-hooping in the same space in 2011.
