Thousands protest HK leader at airport

Protesters at Hong Kong international airport have rallied against the Hong Kong leader over an incident involving his daughter and her carry-on bag.

More than 1000 protesters at Hong Kong's international airport have rallied against the Hong Kong leader over an incident involving his daughter's carry-on luggage.

Leung Chun-ying is accused of an abuse of privilege in March for asking airport staff to bring his daughter's carry-on bag to her in a restricted area even though regulations say bags must go through security with their owners.

The government says the bag was still screened by security, but protest organisers believe it was unfair for the leader and his family to receive special treatment.

It's understood the protest did not disrupt flights.
