Three people have been hurt in lightning strikes in Perth's south, including two who were sheltering under a tree.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services says a volunteer firefighter fell to the ground after his Parmelia house was hit by lightning on Monday morning.

He was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition.

Also in the southern suburbs, two people were injured when the tree they were sheltering under in Hammond Park was struck by lightning.

A St John Ambulance spokesman said the injuries were not life threatening.

The pair are also in a stable condition in hospital.
