Three in court over Sydney fight

A police officer has been punched in the jaw and a policewoman threatened with an electric kettle while trying to break up a fight in Sydney's west.

A brawl in Sydney's west has left a policeman injured and three men in court.

Police were called to Dartbrook Avenue, Auburn, after reports of four men fighting each other about 10pm on Saturday night.

The men allegedly turned on police and hit a constable in the jaw.

A female constable was allegedly threatened with an electric kettle before she pushed the man away and arrested him.

Three men, aged 21, 23 and 24, were charged assault offences and hindering police in execution of duty.

The 21 and 24-year-olds were granted bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on July 24.

The 23-year-old was charged with unrelated domestic-violence matters.

He was granted bail, and will appear in Burwood Local Court on July 11.
